So you’re engaged – what next?

5 Top Tips for Engaged Couples

Getting engaged is such an exciting time, and it’s natural to want to dive right into wedding planning. However, there are some important things to take care of after getting engaged before you dive into actioning your wedding day dreams.

We’ve listed the first 5 things that we believe are important to do post-engagement:

1. Celebrate your engagement

The first thing you should do after getting engaged is to take some time to celebrate the moment. Whether it’s with a fancy dinner, a weekend getaway, or a small gathering with close friends and family, take some time to enjoy your new status as an engaged couple.

2. Insure your engagement ring

This is one of the less glamourous to dos, but your engagement ring is a significant investment, and it’s important to protect it. Contact your insurance company to add your ring to your insurance policy, or consider getting a separate policy to cover it in case it is lost, damaged, or stolen. Then you can relax and enjoy flashing it to EVERYONE you see!

3. Set a wedding budget

Before you start planning your wedding, it’s important to determine your wedding budget. Discussing your finances with your partner and any contributing family members to come up with a realistic budget will help you make informed decisions especially when it comes to booking suppliers and choosing the details of your wedding.

4. Determine your wedding vision

Think about the type of wedding you and your partner want to have. Consider factors such as the season, location, style, and size of your wedding. Make a list of your priorities, such as having a particular type of venue or catering, and discuss them with your partner to come up with a shared vision for your wedding day.

5. Start researching suppliers

Once you have a vision for your wedding and a budget in mind, start researching suppliers. Look for wedding suppliers in your area who fit your style and budget, and contact them to check their availability and pricing. Start with the suppliers who are most important to you, such as your venue and photographer, and work your way through the rest of your list.
