Spring Weddings
Spring is the season of renewal, making it a perfect time for a wedding. With the sun shining and the flowers blooming, the air is filled with a sense of joy and new beginnings.
I have to admit, Spring weddings are my favourite so I’ve put together some ideas and inspiration to make your day unforgettable.
Floral Decor
Spring is all about flowers, and what better way to celebrate than by incorporating them into your wedding decor? From bouquets to centerpieces, you can never have too many flowers at a spring wedding. Cherry blossoms are one of the most iconic signs of spring, and incorporating them into your wedding can be breathtaking. Consider incorporating cherry blossom branches into your centerpieces or hanging cherry blossom garlands from the ceiling.
Emily and Kieran hired faux blossom trees from Love With Letters that gave real impact to their wedding breakfast in April last year. Susanne and Faye from the Milston Flower Barn then added real flowers to develop the final look which was incredible. If you would like to have real trees consider asking your local garden centre if they hire trees.
Outdoor Venue
Spring weather can be unpredictable, but if the sun is shining, take advantage of it by hosting your wedding ceremony and reception outside as much as possible. Our gardens look beautiful in Spring when the apple trees are in blossom and our outdoor ceremony space comes to life. Just make sure you have a backup plan in case of rain.
We always decide on the ceremony location the day before the wedding during set up so that we can make an accurate weather judgement and plan accordingly. Thank goodness for our 3 day hire so that you can make those final decisions!
Light and Airy Attire
Spring weddings, depending on our unpredictable English weather, call for light and airy attire. Consider choosing a dress with a flowy skirt and light fabric. For the groom and groomsmen, maybe opt for lighter coloured suits to match the season. Linen suits have been really popular recently and they look great in photographs. Dan and his groomsmen really pull off this look!
Seasonal Cuisine
Incorporating seasonal ingredients into your menu is a great way to celebrate spring. Consider serving dishes that include fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables. Lighter foods, such as salads and grilled dishes, are also perfect for the season.
Our caterers love to work with local, seasonal produce so definitely talk through your ideas with them as they are passionate about food, service and making your day unique and personal to you.
Spring-Inspired Cocktails
Spring-inspired cocktails can add a festive touch to your wedding. Consider serving a Mr and Mrs cocktail with fresh fruit and herbs, such as a lavender gin and tonic or a strawberry basil margarita. Our bar manager, Charlotte, is always open to new ideas and flavours!
Outdoor Games
Hosting outdoor games such as skittles or giant Jenga can be a great way to keep guests entertained during reception drinks. Plus, it’s a perfect way to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather.
Spring Favours
Send your guests home with a little piece of spring by giving them a seasonal favour. Consider giving out packets of wildflower seeds or mini potted plants that they can take home and enjoy.
In conclusion, a spring wedding can be a magical and unforgettable event. By incorporating these ideas and inspirations, you can create a day that celebrates the beauty and renewal of the season.
